To Your Servant, Vasyl, Grant Eternal Rest, O Lord

God of spirits and of all flesh, You trampled death, You made the devil powerless, and You gave life to Your world. Now, O Lord, to the soul of Your servant, Vasyl, who has fallen asleep, grant rest in a place of light, a place of verdure, and a place of tranquility, from which pain, sorrow, and mourning have fled.

It is with great sadness and deep faith in the love and mercy of our Lord that I share the tragic news of the death of Vasyl (Basil) Onuferko, the son of Fr. Andrij and Marijka Onuferko, who lost his life in a mid-air collision near Phoenix, Arizona on Friday, May 31. Vasyl had just attained his commercial flying licence and was to begin instructing students the next day.

We mourn with the entire Onuferko family and invite others to join us in our prayer – for the repose of the servant of God, Vasyl – and for consolation for his family and friends. Funeral arrangements are listed below:
